Product Details

A basket that won't lift is usually held by dried coffee oil, not by design. The portafilter basket removal tool slides its hooked tip under the basket rim and levers it out.

The flat blade reaches into the gap a fingernail can't, so you can pull the basket to clean, descale or replace it. Improvising with a screwdriver tends to bend the basket edge or mark the portafilter. Soak a stubborn basket in hot water first to loosen the oil, then lift.
